North Dakota Administrative Code 33-06-01 states "The Department of Health and Human Services shall designate the diseases or conditions that must be reported. Such diseases or conditions may include contagious, infectious, sexually transmitted, or chronic diseases or any illness or injury that may have a significant impact on public health. The Department of Health and Human Services shall maintain a uniform statewide population-based registry system for the collection of data pertaining to the incidence, prevalence, risk factors, management, survival, mortality, and geographic distribution of cancer and reportable benign tumors." Effective January 1, 2020, Critical Congenital Heart Disease was made a mandatory reportable condition.
Possible False Negative Reporting Form
North Dakota Century Code Chapter 25-17-02.1 states "A licensed clinician attending a patient with a metabolic or genetic disease that was not detected by the state's newborn screening program shall report the case to the department." This case would be considered a false negative.
