About the Program

Women’s Way partner clinic project is intended to support the delivery of breast and cervical cancer screening services for recommended screening utilizing evidence-based interventions to increase breast and cervical screening rates.

Partner clinics are selected based on:

  • Geographical location
  • Access to care
  • Late-stage breast and/or cervical cancer diagnosis
  • Readiness for implementing EBIs such as:
    • Patient Reminders
    • Provider Reminders
    • Provider Assessment and Feedback
    • Reducing structural barriers
    • Small Media
    • Patient Education
    • Community Clinical Linkages

Participating clinics will complete and receive the following:

  • Facilitation and completion of a comprehensive readiness assessment
  • Site visits and coaching calls to assess progress, identify barriers, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Guidance to develop clinic-specific action plans for implementing at least two evidence-based interventions (EBIs) to address breast and cervical screening
  • Advising clinic staff in leveraging their electronic health records (EHRs) to collect and report breast and cervical screening program measures
  • Resources, tools, and materials
  • Annual data submissions
  • Milestone achievement awards

Through this initiative, partner clinics have successfully increased breast and cervical cancer screening rates, enhanced policies and practices, and improved EHR utilization. To further support clinic improvements, Women’s Way collaborates with Quality Health Associates of North Dakota to identify needs, assess progress, and guide efforts to enhance screening rates.

Women’s Way utilizes cancer screening change packages produced by the CDC as a guide to building sustainability capacity within clinics to increase breast and cervical cancer screening. To view the CDC guide click the link below:
