Hope in Action: Human Service Centers & the Power of Outreach
"Hope in Action" is a new video series by Health & Human Services that takes you inside the work being done to make a difference in the Fargo community.
Every day, lives are changed at Southeast Human Service Center in Fargo, ND. From offering 24/7 crisis response to addiction recovery, the Southeast team is on the front lines providing hope and support to those who need it most.
Within its walls, Southeast offers mental health and substance use disorder treatment along with other behavioral health services. What many people may not realize is there is an additional outreach effort, with team members traveling out in the community, meeting people where they are at, sometimes, when they are at their most vulnerable.
So, what does this really mean? What does it look like? What happens and how does it help?
These are the questions we set out to answer when we jumped in the car to experience a day in the life of our outreach team members. Along the way, we visited with several local community partners including Downtown Engagement Center, Emergency Food Pantry, Cooper House, Cass County Jail, Hope in Recovery and ACS, who work in partnership with Health and Human Services and Southeast.
