SNAP processing hits significant milestone

North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) today announced that employees of licensed child care programs in North Dakota will be able to apply to receive help with paying for child care costs for children up to 12 years of age through the Child Care Workforce Benefit beginning June 1.

Because many different car seats are on the market, parents may need assistance finding a car seat that is right for their child and learning how to correctly install it. Help is available throughout North Dakota. Most birthing hospitals and community partner organizations offer car seat education classes in their communities.

Every May beginning on Mother’s Day, is National Women’s Health Week. This week, May 12-18, aims to highlight women’s health issues and encourage women of all ages to prioritize their physical, mental and emotional well-being.

North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) joins its federal partners in the Office on Women’s Health to encourage women to make sure they are current on preventive health screenings and exams and understand how they can improve their health.

Registration is live, and families are encouraged to register for the FREE Gateway to Health event on Aug. 10 at North Dakota’s Gateway to Science in Bismarck.

Organized by North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS), Bismarck State College (BSC) and North Dakota’s Gateway to Science, the event promotes the health and well-being of children, families and community members while featuring hands-on activities, free access to Gateway to Science’s exhibits, Hands-Only CPR training, the opportunity to sign-up for services and more. Emergency equipment will be on display for participants to get an up-close learning experience and local food trucks will set up for business.
