Mission of the ND HIV Advisory Board
The mission of the North Dakota HIV Advisory Board (NDHAB) is to provide representative community feedback on HIV-related programs, services, plans and events of the NDHHS. This board is intended to represent the vast communities impacted by HIV/AIDS in North Dakota, including but not limited to members who represent diverse ages, gender identities, races/ethnicities, sexual orientations, HIV status, and experience or expertise. The boards looks to:
- Advise the NDHHS on how the department can plan and implement services and interventions that address the HIV epidemic in and for all communities
- Provide a community voice in decisions NDHHS makes about current and future services
- Offer feedback on how well NDHHS works with members of the community in consideration of the needs of the jurisdiction
If you are interested in participating, please read the Greeting Letter by the NDHAB Facilitator, Russell Campillo.

About
This advisory board will meet virtually for 2-hours once a quarter. These meetings will be held through Microsoft Teams, and each session will allow time for updates, material review, and learning opportunities for NDHAB members. This time will also be used to react to ideas and plans from NDHHS staff and offer suggestions for improvement. Once members are chosen, the NDHAB will have plentiful opportunities to bring additional topics to discuss, build into committees, adjust the current structure, etc. We hope to create a NDHAB that is meaningful and rewarding and offer community members a meaningful way to engage with NDHHS.
The following is a document highlighting the roles and responsibilities of NDHHS, the Community Ambassador, and Advisory Board Members.
