Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee

BACKGROUND
- During the 2023 legislative session, the passage of House Bill 1447 created in the state treasury an opioid settlement fund. In the fund, moneys recovered by the state as a result of opioid litigation shall be deposited. As required by the opioid settlements, a committee was formed and codified in HB 1447.
- The committee will advise on the distribution of funds received under settlement agreements between opioid manufacturers and distributors and the state. The committee will also make recommendations on how the money should be used to help combat opioid misuse.
- Public feedback will be used to guide the committee’s decision making on strategies to combat opioid misuse.
