Call to Order
I. CHW Training and Education
• Number of hours recommended for experience pathway.
• Recommendation on application requirements for certification pathway (i.e., letters of recommendation, attestation, etc).
• Thoughts on Task Force’s recommended 40-hour training program and identified core competencies.
II. CHW Scope of Practice
• Review and discussion of below Scope of Practice.
A frontline public health worker who serves as a liaison, link, or
intermediary between health and social service and the community.
CHW’s facilitate access to services and improve the quality and cultural competence of service delivery.
Community Health Worker also builds individual and community capacity by increasing health knowledge and self-sufficiency through a range of activities such as outreach, community education, informal counseling, social support, and advocacy.
Community Health Worker services do not include any services which require licensure or training outside what is required for CHW certification.
