LEARN MORE/ APPLY: ND Federal Loan Repayment Program
The ND Federal Loan Repayment Program, formally referred to as SLRP, is federal dollars given to states to administer our own loan repayment program-based state workforce needs. The intention of the program is to increase healthcare access in our rural and underserved areas through placement of eligible clinicians in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA). The ND Federal Loan Repayment Program increases the number of primary care physicians, dentists, dental hygienists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives, pharmacists, nurses, and mental/behavioral health providers practicing in federally designated HPSAs in North Dakota. This program requires eligible clinicians to provide healthcare services for a minimum of 2 years in exchange for loan repayment, with opportunities for continuation awards.

National Health Service Corps (HRSA)
The National Health Service Corps is a loan repayment program administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Terms of obligation (years of service required) vary depending on the program. The purpose of HRSA/ NHSC programs is to connect primary health care clinicians to people in the United States with limited access to healthcare. Similar to SLRP, clinicians will serve in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA). Awards are made yearly and require the clinician to work at an approved NHSC site. Program requirements and eligibility can be found on the National Health Service Corps website.
