Included is a discussion on fostering an effective learning environment while forming collaborative alliances in a strength-based approach to supervision. The supervisor’s role in modeling and monitoring counselor ethics is also explored. Included in the webinar is an overview of the importance of direct observation along with the various means of gathering information about supervisees’ clinical work. Finally, formative and summative evaluations will be discussed along with three formative approaches known as feed up, feed forward and feedback. These approaches are presented as important components of eliciting career development plans from supervisees.
Clinical Supervision – Keys to Success
As the profession evolves, counselors and supervisors are being asked to provide addiction-related services in less time with fewer resources. Clinical supervisors are expected to carefully monitor the services their counselors are delivering in an effort to maximize each treatment opportunity and to maintain the safety of their clients. Clinical Supervision: Keys to Success is a skill-based training, produced in partnership with Orion Healthcare Technology, for those professionals who wish to expand their knowledge of clinical supervision within the addiction profession. This presentation will outline for participants elements of effective clinical supervision, current models of clinical supervision and legal and ethical issues clinical supervisors may encounter. At the end of the live presentation, participants will be able to ask questions of the presenter and receive immediate answers.
