Career Description
This position will supervise and support maximum custody adult males at the North Dakota State Penitentiary by instructing various content towards the GED examination. This position is a year-round position.
Duties and Tasks
*Instruct students on course work assigned by teachers.*Counsel and tutor students as necessary.*Participate in teacher meetings and training.*Keep records and collect data.*Communicate with stakeholders and colleagues on student progress.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of educational programming, good communication skills, ability to work effectively with adults in custody on a daily basis, and ability to function well as a team member. Must be able to successfully complete an interview, standard background and criminal record check. A bachelor's degree in a teaching field and a North Dakota Teaching Certificate are preferred.

The DOCR is seeking a Full Time Instructor to join our education team and support programming within the Missouri River Correctional Center and the Youth Correctional Center. This position is a traveling instructor that will work with both the adult male incarcerated population as well as the youth population. The position will be required to work 40 hours. The position includes employer paid family state health insurance. A teaching license is required. Those with a substitute teaching license are also encouraged to apply. Salary will be determined by the salary schedule.
