The North Dakota Securities Department is seeking an Investor Education and Outreach Communications Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of all investor education content and programming and other outreach communications made by the Department.The Securities Department carries out the important mission of protecting investors and supporting legitimate capital formation. The Department is a regulatory agency responsible for the administration of the North Dakota Securities Act, the North Dakota Commodities Act, the Franchise Investment Law, and Pre-Need Funeral Services Law. As Investor Education and Outreach Communications Specialist, you will:Partner with the Examinations and Investigations team with communications related to investment industry regulation.Manage the Department's support of the Stock Market Game program for participating North Dakota teachers and their students.Manage the partnership with the National Theatre for Children and programming delivery into North Dakota schools.Manage the Department's website content and other communication platforms.Produce Investor Advisories related to investment concepts and fraud warnings for delivery to the public through press releases, website publication, and social media.Participate in events and partnerships designed to educate seniors on investment fraud related topics.Draft and publish press releases related to enforcement actions by the Commissioner.To succeed in this position:You will be self-motivated and creative, with strong interpersonal skills, and a curiosity to learn new approaches to communicating and delivering on our investor protection mission. The position is responsible for prosecuting drug-related criminal cases and asset forfeiture cases under the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program in state and federal courts. As an Account Budget Specialist I in our Financial Management Division you will be a supportive force and an integral team member responsible for and/or assisting with various programs and Peoplesoft modules that are time sensitive and require both analytical and computer technical skills. This position reviews project related revenue and expenditures, which need to be completed on a timely basis. This position also handles Accounts Receivable for timely collection of billings. The ideal person for this position will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills and impeccable attention to detail. The ability to multitask, be a self-starter but also a team player is essential to this position. Job Duties include:Managing processing of Accounts Receivable and other NDDOT revenue.Manage collection of A/R for the NDDOTAnalysis & Billing FunctionsMonitor State-Wide Preliminary Engineering projects.FHWA reports daily and FHWA project closeout process.Final Federal and State projects and related dutiesProvide technical expertise/backup as needed/assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with an accounting concentration or equivalent. Candidates who are currently in their final year of study and are expected to graduate in December 2024 or May 2025 will be considered. Accounting concentration means: 24 semester credits or equivalent of accounting courses, plus 24 credits of other business courses. Principles of accounting or equivalent courses do not count toward the required accounting or business courses. The accounting portion may include classes with an accounting, audit, or tax specialty.
