CADD Editing duties consist of producing standardized CADD layouts of preliminary survey data, gathering relevant data and resources from various sources including field technicians, consultants, and utility companies, and creating digital terrain models. The role requires adherence to NDDOT CADD standards in plan production, performing quality control checks for accuracy and consistency and maintaining daily documentation files on production events.LiDAR and Photogrammetric responsibilities include developing and utilizing techniques to process LiDAR point cloud data, creating, and implementing classification techniques for multiple sources of LiDAR, and generating preliminary survey topography graphics and surface generation. The role includes collecting preliminary survey data from aerial imagery using a stereo soft-copy workstation and performing various photogrammetric operations such as stereo compilation, image creation and manipulation, analytical triangulation, and ortho-rectified mosaic production. Stereo vision acuity is a requirement for this responsibility. UAS operations involve implementing mission planning to ensure project scope is met efficiently, utilizing UAVs and sensor payloads to collect field data for preliminary surveys, and processing GNSS and IMU data to create accurate trajectories. The role also includes post-processing raw data to produce quality LiDAR point cloud files, as well as creating and maintaining related documents and manuals.This role involves up to date training to develop and refine accuracy and efficiency while maintaining documentation that outlines the procedures for creating preliminary survey production files for NDDOT projects.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for an Engineering Technician IV, you must have at least six years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level course work and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. To be considered for an Engineering Technician III, you must have at least four years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level course work and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. As the Highway Materials Coordinator in our Dickinson District, you will be responsible for monitoring the quality of materials used in projects. Federal dollars are tied to the quality, testing and monitoring of the materials used in the State, County and City projects. This position oversees the use of materials in all projects to prevent the loss of federal funds. Supervise District Lab Operations: Ensure district staff is appropriately certified for materials sampling and testing. Conduct materials sampling and testing training for district staff. Monitor testing frequency on state and local projects through frequent conversations with field testing personnel, inspectors, and engineers along with project visits. Complete district IA sampling and testing according to NDDOT, AASHTO, and ASTM procedures. Acquire samples for Materials & Research when required. Coordinate sampling with assistant district engineer. Observe field testers sampling and testing. Interpret Specifications, Field Sampling and Testing Manual, and plans to answer materials sampling and testing questions. Purchase and maintain lab equipment. Coordinate with Materials and Research when necessary. Maintain district lab in a clean, neat, and professional manner. Update and review testing requirements in district's Share Point.Permitting: Administer custodian contracts for rest area and district office. Manage district Adopt a Highway program. Serve as a backup for issuing district permits such as approach, temporary water lines, and utilities. Perform site inspections as necessary. Discuss performance issues with permittees or vendors.Records:Review materials files for project finals. Review Materials Dop Box to make sure all tests are completed and entered for each project.
