Please use our Calculator to see the value of our total rewards package. : As our Environmental Scientist you will be responsible for conducting inspections of and monitoring underground storage tank facilities; overseeing excavation and cleanup leaking underground storage tanks; management of the certification of compliance in the undergrounds storage tank database; conducting fuel samples for analysis, contribute to the development of an online underground storage tank and owner/operator and other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. DEQ will not provide sponsorships.To be considered for an Environmental Scientist II, you must have a bachelor's degree in natural or physical science with emphasis in biology, chemistry, microbiology, environmental science, or closely related field and two years of related experience. To be considered for an Environmental Scientist I, you must have a bachelor's degree in natural or physical science with emphasis in biology, chemistry, microbiology, environmental science, or closely related field.Applicants must have a valid driver's license. Out-of-State training or meetings may occur occasionally." PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Individuals should have effective written and oral communication skills, computer skills (desirable) and good interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of the management of underground storage tank systems, the remediation of hydrocarbon product or background in soil science.
