Career Description
As a Parole and Probation Officer, you'll supervise individuals on parole or probation, conduct client intakes, develop case plans, and manage client cases. You may also assist with parole investigations and other inquiries. The role involves occasional exposure to hazardous conditions that could lead to serious injury. Minimum Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for the Parole and Probation Officer II position include a bachelor's degree (preferred in behavioral science, education, or a related field), eligibility for peace officer licensing in North Dakota, and three years of relevant work experience in corrections, law enforcement, social work, education, or behavioral health settings. Candidates must pass a critical task assessment and complete basic peace officer training if unlicensed. Must have a valid class D driver's license.For the Parole and Probation Officer I position, a bachelor's degree is required (preferred in behavioral science, education or related field), and candidates must also be eligible for peace officer licensing and have a valid class D driver's license.All candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination, thorough background investigation, drug test, psychological evaluation, and the Critical Task Assessment (CTA) fitness test, which must be completed in under 7 minutes and 15 seconds.
