Career Description




The position is responsible for prosecuting drug-related criminal cases and asset forfeiture cases under the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program in state and federal courts. The HIDTA prosecutor develops and administers guidelines for drug cases and coordinates with state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies. This position will be located in Grand Forks, Bismarck, or Fargo and depending on location, some travel may be required. Legislative drafting and committee testimony will be required as directed by the Attorney General. The position may require occasional participation in criminal justice training and public speaking engagements and will perform other duties as assigned. This position is funded by federal grant funding and is contingent upon those funds. In addition to the monthly salary, this position includes fully paid health insurance for employee and family, the option to participate in employee-paid dental and vision for employee and family, participation in the state NDPERS defined contribution retirement plan as well as the option to participate in the 457 deferred compensation plan, the option to contribute to a medical spending account, and earning annual and sick leave. Employees in this position are eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure (or imminent licensure) to practice law in North Dakota. Admission (or eligibility for admission) to practice in federal courts. Four or more years' experience as a lead trial and appellate attorney is preferred. High ethical standards; clean discipline record. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Excellent communication, advocacy, research, and writing skills. Excellent time management and organization skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective and collegial working relationships. As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.As a Peer Support Specialist, you will share personal and practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit service users. With this position, services are delivered by trained and certified individuals in mental health or substance use recovery that promote hope, self-determination, and skills to achieve long-term recovery in the community. With the support of an interdisciplinary team, you will assist with completing and implementing service plans, provide outreach services and engagement opportunities, promote wellness and community involvement, and increase natural supports for service users. Peer Support Specialists will also assist with crisis response. Peer Support Services are community-based. Work will be done primarily in the individual's home and community. To thrive in this position, you should have at least one year of personal recovery, have a strong desire to assist others achieve personal recovery, be knowledgeable about resources offered in your community, and prefer working with clients in their home and natural environments.To be considered for the Peer Support Specialist position, you are required to have the following:Self-identify as an individual who has personal lived experience and is willing to publicly identify as an individual in recovery from a mental health disorder, brain injury, substance use disorder, or combination.At least eighteen years of ageHave a high school diploma or general equivalency.
