State Council on Developmental Disabilities - Remote in ND - Director of Inclusion InitiativesCreate change to make it possible for people with developmental disabilities to live the lives they want with the support they need. Join the State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) as the Director of Inclusion Initiatives.In this newly created Director of Inclusion Initiatives position, you will join a small staff, a 23-member council and other partners committed to improving policies, programs, and practices that impact the lives of North Dakotans with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will participate in the design of new initiatives and Requests for Proposals that promote community inclusion, education inclusion, and peer to peer work. Specifically you'll provide technical assistance to teachers and schools interested in launching and strengthening their peer to peer programs. You'll create curriculum that can be used in peer to peer programs and function as a liaison between the program and SCDD. To be successful in this position, you are committed to creating a world where all people are given the opportunity to be contributing, successful members of their community. You are a skilled advocate for people with developmental disabilities in the educational system. You enjoy creating strong partnerships and creating new ways of doing things. To be considered for this position, you must have the following experience and skills:A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Five years of experience in the education system, preferably Special Education. Notes: Additional experience in administrative staff or professional work in the field of disabilities or related field or in public policy in any field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester credit hours on a year to year basis for the required general experience.Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year to year basis for the required education and experience.Individuals with the following experiences are preferred:Experience working with a peer-to-peer program in a middle or high school in North Dakota.Experience with curriculum development .Location: This position may work remote from home anywhere within in North Dakota. This position will require regular travel throughout the state.About State Council on Developmental Disabilities: The North Dakota State Council on Developmental Disabilities is a dynamic, statewide public policy and advocacy organization, is hiring a Director of Inclusion Initiatives. The Director will join a small staff and work with a 23-member council and other partners to help advance the organization's mission and improve policies, programs, and practices that impact the lives of North Dakotans with developmental disabilities across the lifespan.
