We strive to improve the quality of life of the people of North Dakota, to broaden the State's economic base, create new wealth and generate quality jobs for our people.We are currently looking for a temporary full-time Communications Assistant to provide administrative communications support to various teams and programs. Editing and writing materials, directing, and responding correctly to a variety of emails and telephone calls, along with supporting the Commerce and contractor marketing teams, will be an important part of the job.This temporary status position will include fully paid family health insurance in accordance with the ACA. Temporary employees do not earn annual or sick leave.As the Communications Assistant, you will:Administrative Support Provide administrative support to programs and internal teams.Respond to a variety of emails and telephone calls.Support Commerce and Contractor marketing teams.Update databases and media lists.Track projects and relay metrics with media exposure. Communications Support Help implement communications strategies for programs in DCS.Write and edit communication materials.Compose and edit communications copy (e.g. press releases, publications, social media posts).Assist in maintaining web content and executing social media strategies.Facilitate effective internal communications between DCS and Commerce Marketing Team.Prepare presentations and reports.To be considered for this role, you must have:Proven experience as a Communications Assistant, Communication Specialist, or similar role.An understanding of media relations and digital media strategies.Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign) and content management systems is a plus.Solid editing and researching skills.Excellent communication abilities (verbal and written).Strong attention to detail.Organizational skills.A minimum of an Associate degree with four (4) years of similar or related experience OR Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of similar or related experience. A degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field is desired.Additional InformationHourly Pay - $25.00 - $31.00 per hour, depending on experience.Work Hours - Monday-Friday, not to exceed 40 hours per week. Schedule is flexible and hours may vary.Benefits - This temporary status position will include fully paid family health insurance in accordance with the ACA. Temporary employees do not earn annual or sick leave.Location - Central office is Bismarck, ND, with working remotely from a ND location. Some travel is required.Position Duration - Up to five years or until grant dollars are expended.

Coordinate in-state and out-of-state travel, to include scheduling travel, preparing travel authorization forms; assembling necessary travel, meeting, and event documents; and managing expense reimbursement forms.Coordinate project reporting and quarterly reports.Assist with data review and report preparation for energy federal programs.Coordinate State Energy Program (SEP) stakeholder meetings.Assist with taking and managing minutes related to various meetings associated with State Energy Program activity.Assist with information entry and maintenance in database.To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of either a High School Diploma or GED equivalent and three (3) years of similar or related experience OR an Associate degree and one (1) year of similar or related experience. You must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).Additional InformationHourly Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.Work Hours: Monday-Friday, not to exceed 25 hours per week. Schedule is flexible and hours may vary.Location: Central office is Bismarck, with working remotely from a ND location. Some travel is required.Position Duration - Up to six years based on availability of funds.
