The NDSH is a Joint Commission accredited facility which serves adult psychiatric, chemically dependent, and secure service populations to maintain or enhance their quality of life with dignity and respect. Those are the individuals we serve, those that are unable to currently help themselves, we provide them a safety net at NDSH.The NDSH is seeking an ambitious and determined Psychologist who has experience conducting assessments and providing treatment services to those with serious persistent mental illness. Among other duties, you will be responsible to provide court testimony and serve as an expert witness in court-related legal activities as well as have the ability to use sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement, identify innovative solutions, and solve complex problems and communicate difficult concepts.Experience in forensic assessment and conducting evaluations is advantageous to succeed in this position. You will be a member of a multidisciplinary team who will encourage and support you to continue to grow professionally up to and including continuing the path to becoming the Clinical Director. NDSH is a teaching site for the Department of Psychology, University of North Dakota School of Medicine and also works with students from the School of Pharmacy, North Dakota State University. If selected, you will have the opportunity to work with staff members ranging in experience from recent completion of doctoral programs and internships to those with decades of experience with the severely mentally ill.To be considered for this position, you will require a Doctorate in Psychology and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners, according to North Dakota Century Code Chapter 43-32, and two-years' experience as a Licensed Psychologist.If unable to find qualified candidates, will consider filling this position with a Licensed Psychologist I, which requires a Doctorate in Psychology and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners, according to North Dakota Century Code Chapter 43-32.If unable to find fully licensed candidates, will consider filling this position with a qualified Psychology Resident, which requires a doctorate degree in psychology and eligibility for a supervised psychological residency as determined by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners. The PLUS application is a requirement for licensure in North Dakota. The North Dakota State Hospital - Jamestown, ND - Clinical Physician A Sign on Bonus starting at $30,000 and/or loan repayment can be awarded to the successful applicant.As the Clinical Physician you will contribute to the health and wellbeing of the North Dakota State Hospital's clients and residents through the prevention, detection, and treatment of illnesses. The Clinical Physician completes histories and physicals of new admits, annual, pre-ops and discharging clients. The Clinical Physician also provides medical consults and evaluations of both common and complex medical conditions, collaborates proactively with adjunct health professionals to manage the patients' health needs in a holistic manner.The Clinical Physician supervises dental healthcare staff and works closely with Pharmacy, Lab and X-Ray, as well as off-campus providers. North Dakota State Hospital - Jamestown, ND - Accredited by The Joint Commission The North Dakota State Hospital located in Jamestown is seeking a staff Psychiatrist to join our 20-member clinical staff. NDSH is a Joint Commission accredited and Medicare certified hospital with an approximate bed count of 300 adult psychiatric, chemically dependent and secure service populations. Physician will be responsible for daily rounds; 50% time with patients; participate in rotation for limited hospital-wide call shared with NP's and Clinical Psychologists; present legal testimony; record diagnostic and mental status interviews; record physical exam reports; record weekly progress notes; provide leadership for clinical team; participate in peer review; obtain a minimum of 25 hours of CMEs per year; maintain competencies; and achieve/maintain board certification, to mention a few of the duties/responsibilities.To be considered for this position, you must be Board Certified or Eligible M.D. with residency in psychiatry.
