South Central Human Service Center - Jamestown, ND - Crisis Services TherapistBe part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. Receives reports of suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation (ANE) of individuals with disabilities.Investigates, collects, and reviews information to determine probable cause within timelines; completes required documentation and reports per P&A procedures and protocol.Training and outreachCollaborates with other P&A staff to develop training protocols in areas that include ANE, investigations, disability-related law and processes, advocacy, and other rights areas specific to individuals with disabilities.Collaborates with other P&A staff to develop and present trainings on disability-related topics to people with disabilities, professionals, parents, guardians, and others.Systems advocacyCollaborates with individuals with disabilities and advocacy organizations to develop strategies and advocate for positive systemic changes.Represents P&A on meetings, committees, workgroups, and task forces as requested, to address issues of concern to P&A.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in special education, sociology, or social work and three years of experience working with people with disabilities; ORBachelor's degree in any field, and four years of experience working with people with disabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Work experience that involved advocating for people with a variety of disabilities including developmental disabilities, mental illness, physical disabilities and brain injury, to include co-occurring disabilities.Excellent understanding and knowledge of disability-related service delivery systems in ND.Work experience that required research, analysis, interpretation, and/or application of rules, regulations, statute, or complex policies. South Central Human Service Center - Jamestown, ND - Behavioral Health Therapist overnights*Hiring bonus will be given to the successful candidate upon hire*Work schedule is Friday 4:00pm-Sunday 8:00 am. Schedule subject to change for holidays. During a holiday, the scheduled shift would start at 8:00 am on Friday.This position is eligible for 23% crisis pay on top of base salary.Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. As a team member for ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.In this Behavioral Health Therapist position, you will conduct crisis stabilization or therapeutic intervention, provide supportive therapy to mitigate crisis situations, develop safety plans for individuals at risk, and assist individuals in getting connected with services, either through an HSC Clinic or by connecting with a community provider. Through risk assessments you will assist with admissions to higher level of care facilities with may include but are not limited to North Dakota State Hospital, Crisis Stabilization Units, or other community providers. This position will provide support to residential facilities on-site weeknights until 11 pm and weekends/holidays for approximately 6 hours. This support could include developing and running treatment groups and check-ins with clients.You will thrive in this position if you are committed to a least restrictive and person-centered philosophy. Additionally, you will need to be comfortable providing services in homes and communities, as most services are provided in those locations. Travel is a norm with this position as this position will need to cover a 45-mile radius for in person assessments.To be considered for this position, you are required to have a master's degrees in Social Work, Counseling, or areas approved by the North Dakota Board of Counseling Examiners and ND licensure as a LCSW or LPCC, OR a Doctorate in Psychology and ND licensure as a Psychologist by the ND Board of Psychologist Examiners, or a LAC (Licensed Addiction Counselor).If unable to find fully licensed candidates, will consider filling this position as a Human Relations Counselor, which requires a master's degree in Social Work and licensure as a LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) by the ND Board of Social Work Examiners; OR a master's degree in Counseling and licensure as a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) by the ND Board of Counselor Examiners. Will also consider those with a master's degree in Counseling and licensure as a LAPC, if the applicant is far enough along with the process to obtain their LPCC within two years from the date of hire. Information outlining where you are in the licensure process and the number of training hours already obtained must be submitted with the application form.
