Essential functions of this position is to help ensure all children who need child welfare services have a safe and secure environment. Mountrail McKenzie Human Service Zone is seeking a Child Protection worker for the Child protection Service Unit.As a Child Protection worker, you will be assigned reports of child abuse/neglect for assessment. You will also be responsible to adhere with policy, best practice and planning and arranging emergency interventions, provide general program administration. This position will gather necessary facts and complete written documentation. To succeed in this position, you should be highly organized, able to manage your time and priorities effectively and have demonstrated ability to communicate with all types of people. You will need to have a strong understanding of the program policies and laws. You will also be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications with a willingness to learn new technology programs and have an eye for detail. Additionally, this position will require collaboration with other social service agencies, mental health professionals, school personnel, the court system, etc. The ability to work with families in their home using personal transportation is required, and nontraditional work hours are necessary at times.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must hold a bachelor's degree in nursing (bachelor's level or higher), social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science or criminal justice and two (2) years of professional work experiences as a foster care licenser, social worker, child protective service worker or professional case manager. If no qualified Family Services Specialist III applicants are found, we will consider filling this position as a Family Services Specialist II (SC7004), with an annual starting salary of $50,998.20. Minimum qualifications require a bachelor's degree in nursing (bachelor's level or higher), social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, or criminal justice; and one year of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional case manager. A master's degree in one of the above areas may substitute for the work experience requirement.If not qualified Family Services Specialist II applicants are found, we will consider filling this position as a Family Services Specialist I (SC7004), with an annual starting salary of $49,356.52. Minimum qualifications require a bachelor's degree in nursing (bachelor's level or higher), social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, or criminal justice.Individuals may be required to work nontraditional work hours. The ability to visit person in their own homes is required. As this position requires some transportation of clients, a valid drivers' license, proof of capability to transport clients, and adequate vehicle insurance is required. Agency vehicles are available for visits; however, the employee will need to use personal transportation at times. As an Engineering Technician IV in the Materials and Research Division, you position will be vital to the gravel prospecting section as a member of the drilling crew. Gravel prospecting ensures contractors have access to economical aggregate sources on large construction projects. You will help find, secure, sample, test, and document aggregate sources for specific road construction projects. The ideal person for this position will be a problem solver with excellent communication skills and attention to detail with previous experience in sampling and testing materials. You will be responsible for using track or truck mounted drilling rigs to conduct soil surveys and bridge soil borings. Primary duties associated with this position are as follows: Geotechnical Site Investigation: Investigations are conducted for roadway improvement projects, borrow sites, new structure construction, large embankment fills, and others requiring knowledge of the in-place properties of soil for design and construction. Use track or truck mounted drilling rigs.Gravel Prospecting: Gravel prospecting is performed to locate and secure gravel sources that can be utilized on DOT construction projects. Performing drilling operation using a truck mounted drilling rig to obtain aggregate samples.Field Data Collection: Assist with field data collection including operating equipment and compiling data. Sampling and Testing Materials: Assist with sampling of materials and testing materials in the M&R Concrete, Bituminous, Soils and Aggregate labs. Perform equipment maintenance & minor repairs and assist with building and grounds maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires six years' work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed.
