We are currently looking for a temporary part-time Global Engagement Program Assistant for project-based work in attracting foreign direct investment to North Dakota and conducting economic, capital and/or workforce development missions to foreign countries. As a Global Engagement Program Assistant, you will assist in the development of the ND Department of Commerce Global Engagement Office, which will include the creation and/or enhancement of marketing materials, analyzing and researching foreign businesses and countries on prospective investments, and assisting with relationship management of existing foreign businesses, consul offices and embassies. You will also assist with legislative education to include writing draft legislative testimony and conducting interviews and writing stories. You will assist agency team members in making logistical arrangements for foreign travel, assist in planning and executing mission trips to foreign countries, and attend conferences and pre-mission trips to foreign countries to assist with the execution of the missions. You will also create final reports of the mission trips and conduct post-mission follow-up as required.To succeed in this position, you need to be highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills, can adapt and change approach or methods to fit the situation and be self-directed with the ability to complete projects with limited supervision, take ownership and ask for help when needed, and be comfortable working under tight deadlines.To be considered for this role, you must be able to travel and be willing to travel inside and outside of the United States. You also must have or be able to obtain a US Passport. You must have a minimum of a high school diploma/GED and three years of work experience performing a variety of complex office support OR an associate degree in a business-related field and two years of work experience. This position will also be responsible for obtaining and organizing credit documentation to prepare file for underwriting, generating correspondence and documentation checklists, coordinating loan funding with lead banks and BND loan servicing associates, and processing ongoing loan documentation. An expanded level of knowledge in commercial loan and collateral documentation is required to perform these tasks. The selected candidate will work closely with BND business bankers researching discrepancies, communicating program eligibility and parameters, and fostering the partnerships with lead banks through positive interactions. This position may be required to provide additional office support as necessary.The desired candidate must have the ability to work on multiple loan files simultaneously. They must be able to adjust priorities to changing circumstances and maintain quality in a fast-paced atmosphere. A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive interaction with others, internal and external, and requires influencing and training others.

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires an associate degree in finance, business, or a closely related field of study and three years of work experience in commercial, agriculture, or real estate loan documentation or lending. Additional work experience as described may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. The hiring authority may underfill as a Business Banking Associate II if the applicant pool dictates. Level two requires an associate degree and 18 months of work experience in banking. Hiring range is $48,949 - $61,190.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of banking software systems to include documentation preparation systems and documentation imaging software.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with diverse colleagues and customers.Proven capability to handle multiple high priority tasks.Previous experience with loan file review.
