Career Description

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional work experience performing office support, clerical, or secretarial duties is desirable. Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills is necessary for performing the job duties. Preference may be given to those individuals who have experience with Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and possess prioritization and time management skills. Must be able to meet strict guidelines and manage time independently. The successful candidate must be flexible and innovative in carrying out assigned responsibilities. The Training and Communications Specialist for the Gaming Division within the Office of Attorney General is responsible for developing and conducting training with the charitable gaming organizations throughout the state both in-person and online. This position will also maintain state recordkeeping forms, the gaming website, press releases, legislative tracking of gaming bills, newsletters, and email communications to gaming manufacturers, distributors, and organizations. Conduct on-line or in-person training sessions for both small and large groups with gaming organizations using sample forms, state laws and rules, and presentations. This also requires written summaries of training, maintaining lists of attendees, and updating training databases. Conduct public speaking events to small groups and groups of 50+ on occasion, about gaming laws and rules. Create and update gaming recordkeeping forms and sample forms for the gaming industry using design software (Adobe Designer).Development of materials using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Compose written instructions to be used with recordkeeping forms for the gaming industry. Assist with updating of gaming web page and collaborate with the Attorney General's IT department.Assist and collaborate with the various sections of gaming staff as needed.May require some travel and evenings.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications or education. Accounting, politics, marketing, or business degree, classes, or background preferred.Ability to work independently. Preference will be given to applicants who have gaming knowledge and/or experience but it is not required.Training or teaching experience to both small and large groups (or classes educating how to train individuals). Experience with public speaking and presenting.Must be willing to grow and adapt to the needs of the gaming division.Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to learn new software with ease. Maintain a TAM plan template and review agency plans. Ensure that annual documentation and reporting is completed and submitted to FTA. Minimum Qualifications
